What! I’ve got notes all over the place. I’m a goddamn Yes song.

For about 10 or 15 years, I’ve been carrying around a ripped sheet of cardboard with—no doubt—an older version of this exact diagram that marco posted. I tied a Four in Hand for my whole early life because it was all I knew. I switched to a Half Windsor when I found this card attached to—if memory serves—a tux I was renting.
With the paltry few ties I knot a year, it took me those 10 years to memorize the Half Windsor, but I still always pack this card as a cheat because I’m always terrified I’m going to forget. My card just has the first three. I may spend the next 10 years memorizing the Shell Knot, now that I’ve got that Half Windsor down!
Damn. I wish I’d thought to commemorate the moment as lonelysandwich did.
All I want is a warm bed, a kind word and unlimited power.
